Clinical Neuroscience
Story
St Vincent's Hospital continues to be one of the leaders in public health care in Australia. Through the generous support of its staff and wider community, the inaugural St Vincent's Hospital Scrubs run raised $190,000 specifically towards the purchase of an exciting navigation system that allows delicate surgery to be performed in the safest possible manner. The hospital prides itself on being at the forefront of medical advances and this year we are aiming to purchase equipment that will benefit our patient community in a wide range of specialities.
The neuro-monitoring equipment planned for is the latest in allowing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to be performed for conditions ranging from multiple sclerosis, dizziness, back pain and nerve injuries to name a few. It is key to the long-term innovative approach at St Vincent's Hospital in pursuing novel and exciting treatment options for patients.
I would ask that you consider this request and give generously to this cause, remembering that through the purchase of this equipment you are impacting not just one life, but the lives of many to come. Thank you for your kind responses!!
To the team at Clinical Neurosciences - run hard and enjoy the day!!

St Vincent’s Hospital (Melbourne) Ltd
Community support and generosity have been central to the story of St Vincent’s since our beginnings as a small cottage hospital in 1890s Fitzroy. Back then, we relied entirely on charitable donations to survive and thrive. Over 100 years later, we take our place as Victoria’s leading teaching hospital, with over 7,000 staff providing the best possible medical, surgical, emergency, mental health, palliative and aged care services to patients from backgrounds of all kinds.
In the last year alone, the St Vincent’s team have performed Australia’s first hand transplant, developed the world’s first warning device for epileptic seizures and opened an amazing new state-of-the-art Cancer Centre. For these reasons and many more, we are recognised locally and internationally for excellence in health care, research and innovation.
All this would not be possible without the continuing tradition of amazing community giving and support. We receive 70 per cent of our funding from government and bridge the gap in large part thanks to the generosity of our donors. With your help, we have the means to secure the best medical staff, technology and facilities for all our patients. Many thanks for your support!
